Psychologists are of the opinion that greeting someone in their own language creates affinity and breaks cultural barriers. Business executives, students or even the casual visitor can hope to be accepted easily if they are able to greet locals correctly in their language. This builds confidence in the learner while the locals value the effort taken by a foreigner to learn the positive elements of their language. A proper greeting also creates that all-important first impression that goes a long way to achieving one's objectives. It is therefore very important to know exact phrases and their proper pronunciation while making an effort to greet someone in Spanish.
